BellaChesta is located in Oakland California, just across the Bay from San Francisco and just a short distance from the rolling vineyards of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. We are lucky to be in an area where wine and food flourishes as an industry and where many small, local gourmet specialty companies thrive. We have taken much time and care in selecting our food products and try to buy as close to home as possible. Thats not to say that we arent using companies that arent local we definitely are and some really great ones. We have taste tested just about everything before giving it our approval. If we dont eat it you dont eat it. Sometimes we may substitute on certain items only to make sure we are sending the freshest product possible. During hot summer months certain chocolate items may be substituted with others that are a little more heat tolerant. We can assure you that no matter what we send it will be delightful!

Chocoholics
Located in Clements California (a very small town, we had to Google it) Chocoholics started with a very small product line in 1995 and has become one of the fastest growing privately owned companies in America. We dont doubt it. Their chocolate is absolutely divine. We hope you get a chance to try their chocolate/caramel covered pretzels. We have yet to try anything like them.

Italian Harvest
Located in San Francisco, John & Victoria began sourcing products for their new company while living in Italy in 1999. John was born in Rome and lived there for 30 years. Bringing with him his native knowledge, he and his wife have been importing artisanal foods from regions in Italy that have little or no representation in the United States. Their products are handmade by artisans and small family-run factories that still use old world techniques and craftmanship.

Judys Breadsticks
This story is a joy to read. We will give a short synopsis but if you want to find out more check out her web-site www.lovesticks.com. Judy was the executive chef and baker at The Little River Inn in Mendocino California (a beautiful place, by the way) where she was hand making every foot long stick of bread. Lynda who had been on a quest looking for this wonderful bread maker found Judy and the rest is history. Judy makes the wonderful breadsticks (she calls œtwigs) that we have in so many of our baskets. They are made with 1oo% whole grains, are low fat, low sodium, no trans fat and are vegan. Our favorite is the sweet currant. Try them with wine!

Healdsburg Toffee
What can we say? This little chocolate company in Healdsburg is amazing. The Healdsburg Toffee Company is family-owned and operated. They personally oversee all production in their factory, located in the heart of the Northern California Wine Country. While they began with their special toffee recipe, it became such an immediate success, they now make over 25 different other types of confections.

Dale & Thomas
They actually have a popcorn chef! Thats right. Ed Doyle, graduate of the Culinary Institute of America joined forces with Dale & Thomas popcorn to œrevolutionize the humble popped kernel of corn, bringing it to gourmet status. Crunchy butter toffee, creamy peanut butter, white chocolate. Taste how good popcorn with a little bit of imagination can be.

Wedding Time Products
A division of Roberts Ferry Nut Co. this 20 year old family owned company grows the almonds for their caramel corn in their own orchards in the Mother Lode region of California know as Roberts Ferry. Fresh, crisp and crunchy their caramel corn is the best!!!

Heritage Pies
This company makes pies the old fashioned way - without preservatives or filler and completely trans fat free! They even hand peel their apples and make their rich buttery crust from scratch. The pies in a jar are made with imperfect pies for an absolutely perfect dessert fix. For a special treat, heat them up in the oven to get the crust flaky and the berries warm, add vanilla ice cream, whip cream and it tastes just like mom used to make. Well maybe your mom, but not ours.

Naughty Biscotti
Growing up with grandmas homemade biscotti (back when no one even knew what biscotti was) has made us very fussy about the biscotti we will put in our baskets. Welcome to the Scandalously Decadent World of Naughty Biscotti. Made in small batches, this local company has spared no expense. They use an exaggerated amount of what they call œThe Naughty Stuff premium chocolates, nuts and fruits. They are then hand dipped in rich, creamy covertures and then individually wrapped. They believe if you are going to indulge, you better make it count and trust us they are worth every delectable bite!

Simply Scrumptious
As early as high school, Debra dreamed of indulging in her passion for chocolate and her love of cooking. While enjoying a successful career in commercial real estate, she still dreamed of a œsweeter life in chocolate and in 1992 she made a career change. (Lucky for her!) Now she and her husband are working together producing high quality products in small batches to ensure quality. Try their white chocolate peppermint oreos. Hands down, our favorite.

Rustic Bakery
Located in Larkspur in the heart of Marin County just north of San Francisco, bakes a fabulous line of flatbreads and sourdough lovosh. They are baked by hand with organic grains and seed, using local ingredients as much as possible. The flatbreads are all low in fat, high in fiber and full of nutrients making them naturally good for you.

Pelican Bay
Another successful family business venture, Pelican Bays product line consists of a variety of mixes including baking mixes, cookies, scones, breads, pies, teas, hot chocolates and summer sparklers just to name a few. We tried the banana bread and it was great. A little calorie conscious tip We substituted the sour cream with plain yogurt and added more bananas.

Lulas
It all started with Grandma Lulas chocolate recipes. Now her kitchen cooked confections are being re-imagined for a new generation by her grandson Scott. Made in small batches in Monterey California his chocolates are truly œto die for.

Gourmet Village
Gourmet Village in Canada was started by a husband and wife team as a hobby. Product development of their dips is taste tested under real home conditions in their farmhouse kitchen and their friends share in the tasting. They travel the world looking for new and different tastes to share with their family, friends and customers.

Creative Cookie
We love the story of this companys conception. In 1979 in a casual conversation between two friends who joked Maybe youll get a fortune cookie that says youll marry a Jewish doctor! This one small sentence eventually led to the first œcreative cookie and now the company has over 50 themed fortune cookies as well as celebration cake mixes you just mix with water, microwave, decorate and celebrate.

Plentiful Pantry
Started by a husband and wife team, Plentiful Pantrys goal was to make pasta dishes that were quick and easy and still rivaled the best restaurants. Successful in their endeavors, new products were added keeping to their original idea of keeping everything quick and easy as well as healthy and tasty.

La Graziosa--The Graceful Cookie
Another fabulous cookie company just minutes away from us, The Graceful Cookie started 12 years ago with an old family recipe of biscotti. We are crazy about not just their biscotti but all their cookies. We especially love that they are trans fat, preservative, and artificial flavoring free. Enjoy, they are wonderful.

Brent and Sams
This is a really interesting story. Brent Bumpers and Sam DeWitt were childhood friends. Brents father was the governor of Arkansas and the boys got their first taste of the world class cookies from the kitchen at the Governors Mansion from the legendary cook, Eliza Ashley.

Years later the boys, now adults and working at other jobs, still longed for the taste of those unforgettable cookies. Together they dedicated themselves to making those delicious cookies and making them available to the public. They did good and even though they are as big as they are every batch of cookies is still made from scratch in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

J. Squared
What can we say about J. Squared but On My God! When we called to place our first order the woman who answered (Jan) told us she would be baking the next day and would get them out to us the following day. We knew right then and there she as a perfect fit. Her cookies are amazing. Chimayo red chile chocolate chip leave you with a little zing, the chocolate chip are the best ever, the pistachio biscotti delightful and her granola is as fresh and homemade tasting as anything youll ever get in a package. We have tried to put her cookies in as many baskets as possible.

Gary Poppins
Gary (we believe that is his real name) had the best popcorn of all that we tried. His story is pretty simple. He always loved popcorn. His father owned a bakery and he was always watching the bakers mixing ingredients and experimenting with new recipes. Wanting to make something different and unique he came up with different combinations of popcorn. White chocolate, French vanilla coffee, chocolate oreo, chocolate marshmallow, white chocolate oreo mint just to name a few. We have yet to taste them all but were working on it. Gleefully.
